 Tree Stewards and Water Stewards
Master Gardeners have the opportunity to receive advanced training to become a Tree Steward and/or a Water Steward. Upon completing 30 hours of training and a 30-hour project, a tree steward or water steward may then participate in the following specialized projects:

The VBMG Tree Stewards also sponsor a grant program called the "Legacy Tree Planting Grant Program."  The purpose of the program is to provide grant money to non-profit organizations for the purpose of acquiring and planting a tree in the City of Virginia Beach.  A more complete description of the program, the grant criteria, and an application can be found here.
