Description: High-yielding serrano. Hot Rod is a traditional serrano with average 3" fruits borne on big plants over a long harvest period. The dark green fruits are traditionally eaten green but also make fine chipotles if allowed to ripen to red. A couple of days later, but much higher yielding, than Serrano Del Sol, which it replaced. Intermediate resistance to potato virus Y and tobacco etch virus
