Size at Maturity: 90-100ft tall, 2-3ft diameter, 30-50ft wide
Light requirement: part to full sun (4 or more hours of sun)
Soil moisture: moist - looks and feels damp, poorly drained areas
Seasonal interest: evergreen, 6-9in needles, 2-6in long cones
Value to wildlife: seeds and habitat for smaller animals and birds; larval host to Elfin butterfly (Microtia elva); nesting for osprey and bald eagle
Value to environment: water filter for dark mucky soils where it typically grows. Responds well to better soil and additional water
