A small often multi stemmed deciduous tree that is native to the eastern United States.
Size at Maturity: up to 25ft, small tree/large suckering shrub
Light requirement: Full sun to part shade though blooms better in full sun
Soil moisture: well drained, can tolerate and is somewhat drought tolerant
Seasonal interest: showy spring fringy blooms; berries in late summer on female plants and beautiful yellow fall foliage.
Value to wildlife: Attractive to pollinators during bloom, berries are a food source for birds
Value to environment: Tolerant of air pollution and adapts well to urban settings
